Stupidity Kills!

September 6, 2006

Recently I was chatting with a friend of mine online when, very randomly if I may add, she sent me a scanned newspaper clipping. This is what was on it (excuse the formatting):

Stupidity Kills!

First and foremost… ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Can people be so stupid that what they do around you can cause you to die later on down the line? I mean there have been times when I have met people so stupid I thought their stupidity might kill THEM… But I never thought it could kill me! If I ever (hopefully!) have people working for me, am I in danger of dying if one of my co-workers is stupid? Is this grounds enough to fire one of them?

– “I’m sorry but I will have to fire you because you are too stupid and I don’t want to die as a result…”

I guess it is somewhat possible for you to die from this as a stupid employee or employer could raise your blood pressure and cause you to “hit the hay” (to put it lightly). The complexities of how the mind works and how it responds to external stimuli can never be truly known so it is very possible that someone could die from working with a stupid colleague.

What I do want to know is how does something like this become news? How bored does a journalist have to be before he or she writes something as trivial as this? This article is fit for a blog… Not published news… Well I guess thats just what I think 🙂 I wonder if this journalists editor is dead?

Anyway… Next time you see an “I’m with Stupid –>” shirt, consider it a warning… Not just a funny t-shirt.
